Prayers for Peace in the Middle East

A Prayer Guide for Children (ages 6–12)  ·  7 July 2026

There is a war in the Middle East, between countries including Israel, Iran and Lebanon. But this week something wonderful happened — nations began talking about peace! Let's pray together for these seven things.

1. The Israel–Lebanon Peace Deal

On 26 June, Israel and Lebanon signed a peace agreement — the first in over 40 years! Soldiers are pulling back from southern Lebanon.

Pray: that this agreement grows into full, lasting peace.
"Seek peace and pursue it." – Psalm 34:14

Pray: that families on both sides finally feel safe.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." – Matthew 5:9

2. The Iran Agreement

On 18 June, the USA and Iran signed an agreement to work toward peace — but it's under a lot of pressure.

Pray: that both countries keep their promises.
"The Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." – Proverbs 2:6

Pray: for the teams talking things through in Switzerland.
"The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord." – Proverbs 21:1

3. A Safe Sea Route

An important sea route called the Strait of Hormuz has been unsafe. Ships carrying oil and food pass through it — when it's blocked, prices go up for families everywhere.

Pray: that this sea route stays open and safe.
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it." – Psalm 24:1

Pray: for sailors stuck far from home to get back safely.
"He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry." – Psalm 146:7

4. Putting Down Weapons

A group in Lebanon called Hezbollah still has weapons and won't agree to put them down — this is making peace much harder.

Pray: that Lebanon's leaders are given courage to bring peace to their whole country.
"Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak." – James 1:19

Pray: that hearts will change toward peace instead of fighting.
"Learn to do right; seek justice." – Isaiah 1:17

5. Wise Words from Leaders

Leaders from many countries are talking about peace, but sometimes their words sound angry and scary.

Pray: for wisdom for every leader involved in these talks.
"For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers." – Proverbs 11:14

Pray: for the helper countries working hard to bring everyone together.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." – Matthew 5:9

6. Comfort for Hurting Families

Many families in this war have lost their homes or been separated from people they love.

Pray: that God comforts every family who is sad or hurting today.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." – Psalm 147:3

Pray: for doctors, nurses and helpers caring for people who need them.
"Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you." – Isaiah 41:10

7. Our Declaration — say this together!

“Lord Jesus, we lift the Middle East to You. Thank You for the peace deal between Israel and Lebanon — let it become real and lasting. Hold the Iran agreement firm. Keep the sea routes open and safe. Comfort the hurting and heal the wounded. Give every leader wisdom, and let peace win over weapons. We declare that Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and His Kingdom brings hope, justice and new life. Amen.”
